JOBS, JUSTICE AND SOMEONE TO TALK TO

America's all volunteer military has deployed to nine years of war. Just 2 million men and women out of a population of 300 million have been deployed, and redeployed and redeployed.

In its landmark 2008 study "Invisible Wounds of War," RAND Corp estimated up to one third of those previously in Iraq and Afghanistan were suffering PTSD, TBI or major depression.

From years 2000-2010, 178,000 confirmed TBI (traumatic brain injury) cases have been reported by the US military. 1891 are listed as severe, 3175 were penetrating  with easy to diagnose external injury.  186,000 were mild to moderate, with no external signs of injury.

One veteran attempts suicide every 36 hours in the United States, Colonel John Bradley, Chief of Psychiatrists at Walter Reed hospital, said for 2010.

What can you do? Help US!

We locate psychological treatment for TBI, ODM, PTSD injury, locate and create peer to peer support groups for veterans feeling isolation, depression, distress, anger, frustration, homelessness, employment, familial or marital problems.

We proudly support female veterans as women warriors with often unique and extensive trauma relating to their service. As soldiers returning OEF/OIF, and also being moms, wives, girlfriends and the internal conflicts of the competing expectations on women in particular, we provide a support and communication network, childcare assistance, employment assistance, legal aid, and more. Are you a woman warrior? Email us today!

Our groups meet online or in person. Form sports teams, run together, walk together, have family outtings, camp and hang out together, volunteer together. Hanging out with people you can relate to can make a difference! – and maybe some friends along the way…

What do we do?

We sponsor sports challenges and recreational activities in California.  We focus on athletic and mental support in a peer-group environment. The transition to rewarding post-combat lives is our goal!

A 2010 Pentagon survey showed 84% of all troops reported suffering some degree of PTSD! The long term effects of PTSD (formerly known as shell shock) are unknown. Untreated, the isolation and frustration can cause a poorly functioning civilian. Being “Barely there”.

Many soldiers do not report symptoms for fear of retribution in the current military culture and more try to “go it on their own”. Many Female vets do not have any local outlet or help groups dedicated to them at all!

That needs to change...

We are a not for profit, non-religious, non-partisan organization. All staff and volunteers are unpaid community members. Our goal is to be your community, your friends and associates, off the battlefield and beyond...

We need board members!
